Application Scenarios of G3101 SM41B Steel Plate2025-08-12
As a weldable fine-grained structural steel, DIN17102 EStE255 exhibits the following key features:
Excellent Low-Temperature Toughness:
EStE255 belongs to a special low-temperature steel series, with a minimum impact energy value of up to -60°C. It maintains high toughness in ultra-low-temperature environments, making it highly suitable for applications in extreme cold regions or low-temperature operating conditions, such as support structures for polar research stations and hulls of deep-sea drilling platforms. This characteristic effectively resists the risk of low-temperature brittle fracture.
Fine-Grained Structure:
Through specific heat treatment processes and alloy element additions, EStE255 develops a fine-grained microstructure. This structure not only enhances the material's strength but also significantly improves its toughness, enabling the steel to withstand substantial loads and harsh working conditions.
Good Weldability:
As a weldable fine-grained structural steel, EStE255 maintains structural stability and consistent mechanical properties during welding. Its optimized chemical composition minimizes the risk of cracking or porosity during welding and supports various welding processes, including manual metal arc welding and gas metal arc welding.
Balanced Strength and Toughness:
EStE255 offers moderate yield strength (not less than 255 MPa) and tensile strength while maintaining good elongation and impact toughness. This balance allows EStE255 to meet strength requirements while accommodating a certain degree of deformation and impact loads.
